The meeting was great - good to work with professionals who can see solutions to problems so quickly.

One thing I'm really pleased about is that we will have Surf Lifesavers to form the guard of honour for the international board. Our international president loves swimming and particularly the sea, so it will be a tribute to her as well.

This year is the year of the life saver, so it is doubly valuable.

There are also heaps of resources on surf lifesavers for education.

An innovation process and software framework
In a recent press release, Archstone consulting reports on its findings in a recent survey on innovation. According to their survey, over 70% of the firms they talked to were planning to increase investment in innovation, yet over 50% were dissatisfied with the results of their innovation initiatives to date. Only 5% claimed to have “a highly effective innovation process”.Clearly there’s a significant disconnect between these figures, and we believe one of the important reasons is that innovation is still so poorly defined from a process and systems perspective.

I've been busy today preparing for a meeting tomorrow with the hotel hosting our convention. Lots of cross-checking and detail.

I suppose we assume that bosses or leaders are, by definition, public speakers. Seems it's not necessarily the case.
